Jenna Wang

Administrative Assistant, School of Music

Jenna Wang is the Administrative Assistant for Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Music. As BU is her alma mater, she takes pride in being a double Terrier and, caring deeply for the faculty, staff, and students of BU, is eager to support them and further BU School of Music’s vision.

Classically trained as a cellist, Jenna has performed in venues such as Orford Musique, Tanglewood, Festival Napa Valley, Smithsonian National Gallery of Art, Brucker Hall, Strathmore Hall, Royal Dutch and Mexican Embassies, the National Geographic Society, U.S. Capitol Russell Senate Building, Jordan Hall, the Kennedy Center, Boston Symphony Hall, and Carnegie Hall. She regularly performs with chamber ensembles and orchestras in the Greater Boston area and teaches cello privately. Some honors include performing in a select string quartet for 2021 Beethoven Symposium Seminar, presented by Jeremy Yudkin and Lewis Lockwood through Center for Beethoven Research, Casals Festival through Celebrity Series of Boston, and NASA’s Sally Ride Tribune at the Kennedy Center. Jenna has been a Teaching Artist at Boston Music Project (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization), Sectional Coach for Boston University’s All-Campus Orchestra, and cello instructor through El Sistema and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras Intensive Community Program. On the arts administration side, Jenna has worked as orchestra manager of Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras and in the Boston University School of Music Office of Admissions as Graduate Assistant and Admissions Coordinator.

Jenna holds both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Performance degrees from Boston University, where she studied with Michael Reynolds of the Muir Quartet on full merit scholarship and was mentored by Mihail Jojatu of the Boston Symphony in orchestral techniques.

In her free time, Jenna is a foodie, enjoys cooking for loved ones, trying new restaurants, taking long walks, going to concerts, travel and photography and videography for fun.
