
Jewel Kim
Admissions Coordinator, School of Music
Jewel Kim is the Admissions Coordinator for the Boston University School of Music. She oversees on-campus admissions events, including auditions, tours, information sessions, open houses, and visit days. Additionally, she manages the School of Music social media channels with her colleagues, reviews graduate applications, and counsels prospective students throughout the application process. She takes pride in supporting applicants in discovering programs that align with their goals while fostering a smooth transition into higher education.
Jewel earned a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance with a minor in Arts Leadership from the College of Fine Arts. She studied primarily with Rhonda Rider and was mentored by numerous string faculty members throughout her four years. To better support prospective students and their families, she began pursuing an Ed.M. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development in January 2025.
She previously gained experience in artist management and executed numerous publicity projects for Adam Schoenberg, Seong-Jin Cho, James Gaffigan, and Valerie Coleman (CFA’95, BUTI’89). Her contributions to promoting artists in Greater Boston through articles and social media were featured in the College of Fine Arts’ student internship series.
In her free time, Jewel enjoys cooking, exploring the city on foot, and visiting local bakeries in Boston.
