Jill Grimes

Senior Lecturer in Art, Painting

Jill Grimes is a Senior Lecturer at Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts, where she has been teaching since 2006. She has also taught painting and drawing in Venice for Boston University and been a Teaching Resident at the International School of Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy. Her work has been reviewed by the Boston Globe and Art New England and has been featured in New American Paintings and 100 Boston Painters.

Jill has been awarded artist residencies at the Main Street Arts Center and the Catskill Center for Conservation in New York State, and the Vermont Studio Center among others. She is a 2014 recipient of the Blanche E. Colman Award. Grimes received a BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, an MFA in Painting from Boston University, and attended the Post Baccalaureate program for studio art at Brandeis University. She has exhibited her paintings throughout the US and New England and is represented by Alpha Gallery in Boston.
