Samnang Riebe

Samnang Riebe is a Cambodian-American painter and sculptor who’s upbringing was split between the city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Eastern Massachusetts, USA. Through a lens of abstraction and landscape painting, his work investigates the visual languages that come from his own cultural heritage, as well as the places of us his American upbringing.

Riebe received a BFA from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design. Additionally, he is a 2015 recipient of the Vermont Studio Center Fellowship. He continues to reside in Boston and exhibits throughout New England, with his workspace located at Brick Island Studios in Hyde Park, MA.
