Warren Levenson

Lecturer in Music

A BU faculty member since 1995, Warren Levenson has led the BU Jazz Combos since 2015. He taught and coordinated three levels of Group Guitar lessons and provided private guitar instruction at BU from 1995 to 2020, and has presented a series of improvisation clinics.  He is also an ensemble leader and guitar instructor at the Belmont Day School, and was the guitar instructor at the Meadowbrook School of Weston.  From 1997 to 2014 he taught at Gann Academy, where he led the Jazz and Rock bands, taught Music History and Music Theory and composed original music for many drama club productions. He served two terms as Arts Department Chairman at Gann. Warren is a Jazz guitarist, and has performed all over New England. From 2009-2014 he was a member of PanNeubean Steel, a Caribbean music band. He holds a B.A. in Music from Brandeis University and a M.M. from the New England Conservatory.
