Zachary Schwartz

Director of Admissions, School of Music

Zach Schwartz, Director of Admissions for the BU School of Music, is keenly interested in the intersections between enrollment management, data science, sociocultural dynamics, psychology, economics, and marketing. Zach takes pride in “demystifying” the world of arts education for students, families, and communities.

Zach sits on the Executive Board of the Music Admissions Roundtable, a national organization uniting hundreds of collegiate music programs and the dedicated enrollment professionals who annually guide thousands of young musicians to further artistic study. Previously, Zach was a member of the Enrollment team at New England Conservatory for six years, has worked as a contract publicist for PARMA Recordings, and formerly co-headed the arts marketing agency Promote Classical.

Trained as a classical saxophonist, Zach is the founding baritone saxophonist of the Pharos Quartet, with whom he has performed all over the Northeast, recorded, taught masterclasses, and commissioned new chamber works.

Zach holds the degree of Master of Performance (MPerf) from the Royal College of Music in London, and the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts degrees, both from Boston University.
