An Adventure in the Arts is an exhibition of a selection of works from the permanent collection of Guild Hall, a cultural center on the eastern end of Long Island. This unique region of the world has attracted many diversely talented artists, writers, musicians, actors, and directors throughout the years.

Since its inception in 1931, Guild Hall has developed an impressive permanent collection which now consists of over 1,900 works in all mediums, including paintings, prints, photography, and sculpture. This exhibition consists of 73 works by 63 artists. Works by early residents Thomas Moran and Childe Hassam are among the collection as well as later works by artists Chuck Close, Willem de Kooning, Max Ernst, Adolph Gottlieb, Lee Krasner, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg, Larry Rivers, David Salle, Andy Warhol, and many more.

An Adventure in the Arts is curated by Christina Mossaides Strassfield. Special recognition goes to Maura Doyle, Associate Curator/Registrar. The traveling exhibition was organized by Guild Hall in association with Landau Traveling Exhibitions, Los Angeles, CA.
