Boston, MA – Tickets are now on sale for the 2017-2018 season productions from Boston Center for American Performance (BCAP), the professional extension of the Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre. BCAP’s 10th season includes a quartet of co-productions with New Repertory Theatre: Ideation by Aaron Loeb, Lonely Planet by Steven Dietz, Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act by Athol Fugard, and Ripe Frenzy by Jennifer Barclay, winner of the National New Play Network’s 2016 Smith Prize for Political Theatre.
The 10th season of BCAP will celebrate the program’s long partnership with New Repertory Theatre and commitment to both creating new work and finding new approaches to existing work. The season will conclude with BCAP’s presentation of the first annual InMotion Theatre production of The Journey, a devised movement piece based on Moby Dick and curated by Yo-EL Cassell that will mark BCAP’s first production in Boston University’s new Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre.

The BCAP initiative, under the leadership of Artistic Director Jim Petosa and Managing Director Liz Mazar Phillips, aims to foster significant interaction between members of the professional performing arts community and the faculty and students of the Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre. The goal is for these collaborations to have a significant impact on the College’s overall educational mission, become a consistent source of inspiration for the creation of both new work and new approaches to existing work, and to provide the College with a professional extension of its expanding and diverse aesthetic.
“For ten years, Boston Center for American Performance has generated a wide range of theatrical productions that have mixed many generations of theatre artists,” says Petosa. “Creating a professional extension for the artistic community that is comprised of Boston University School of Theatre students, faculty, staff, alumni and guest artists has produced a strong artistic legacy in which we take great pride.”
