Jeffrey Nowlin

Jeffrey Nowlin is an artist, educator, and researcher. He received his BFA in Sculpture from Boston University in 2010 and earned an MFA in 3D from Massachusetts College of Fine Art and Design in 2019. He currently resides in Allston, Boston where he actively exhibits work. He has volunteered in the local community as an educator and committee member. He is an associate member of the Boston Sculptors Gallery. Nowlin was a participant of the Gallery 263 Artist Residency Program, 2019. His practice includes working in textiles, sculptural weaving, wood carving, and drawing. Jeffrey Nowlin investigates the form of the body, traumatic experiences, and personal narratives in his sculptures. He utilizes reclaimed clothing and conscripted objects to ground the viewer with a sense of the body. His recent research topics include phenomenology, psychological trauma and illness, and Reconstruction Era education structures.
