Advance Shipments
On weekdays beginning June 17, 2025, West Street Campus staff will accept boxes and instruments (with the exception of harps) if you choose to ship them in advance of your arrival. Advance shipments to campus must be prepaid or they will not be accepted. It is highly recommended that you insure all instruments and baggage shipped before your arrival. Boston University will not be liable for damage to items you ship or for damage to any of your personal property (see “Loss or Damage” in the Terms and Conditions of the Residence License Agreement).
Shipping From Campus
You are responsible for making shipping arrangements for all instruments, baggage, and boxes that you are not planning to carry personally when you depart. Shipments must be prearranged and prepaid by you. Be advised, shipping companies such as FedEx and UPS will not pick up packages, instruments, or baggage from various residences around campus; Groton Place is the only location to which these companies will pick up items. Shipments must be scheduled for pickup no later than Sunday, August 17, 2025. For assistance, please contact the Student Life Office after June 17, 2025.
Harp Shipping and Provisions
Harps will be provided for lessons, rehearsals, and concerts. Students are strongly encouraged to bring or rent their own harp so they may practice in their dorm room. You must arrange to have your harp shipped to West Street Campus so it arrives after your scheduled arrival day on campus. This will enable you to be on campus to receive your instrument personally. Boston University Tanglewood Institute staff members are not permitted to receive harps shipped in advance. If you are not there to receive it personally, it will be returned to sender at your expense.
