Paolo Moreno (CGS’18), Fashion Brand Founder
CGS student Paolo Moreno (CGS’18) recently released the latest collection for his fashion brand, Chemical X. Moreno created Chemical X two years ago with friends Pedro Monestier, who designs the clothing along with Moreno, and photographer Matias Vasquez, who is in charge of the company’s branding and promotion.
When asked by BU Today where he came up with the company’s signature “X”, Moreno said, “In math, the ‘X’ is unknown, it’s subtle, and I like how people question it and are not too sure what it is.”
Moreno gets his inspiration from rappers such as A$AP Rocky and the brand Supreme when designing the streetwear his company has become known for. In March 2017, Moreno tells BU Today, Chemical X signed with celebrity promoter Phil the Mayor to showcase the new Chemical X collection in a pop-up store at the Miami venue Appt Only in March 2017.
For what’s in store for the future of Chemical X, Moreno tells BU Today that he hopes to turn Chemical X into a bigger brand with its own magazine or modeling agency.
