Matthew Bae
Director of Student Services and Academic Advising
When I began my undergraduate studies at CGS in 2008, I came with a sense of what I wanted to learn, but was intimidated by the size of the university and was uncertain how to best navigate this new environment. It was during my two years at CGS that I developed a strong connection with my advisor, and his helpfulness and dedication to all of his students are what compelled me to work in higher education.
It is a huge privilege to get to work with students at my alma mater. I have seen BU from many sides – as student and as staff – and it is my goal to use all of these perspectives to better connect with students and support them as they make their own academic, professional, and personal decisions.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy running, bouldering, yoga, and cycling. These activities fuel my love of cooking and (more importantly) enjoying great food. Other interests include traveling, reading, and discovering new music.
