
Postdoctoral Associate Lecturer
Dr. Jose Medrano joined the PFF Program in Spring 2018. Dr. Medrano has coordinated the laboratory sections for CH421 (Biochemistry I) with Prof. Perlstein, Prof. Tolan, and Dr. Vardar-Ulu and CH422 (Biochemistry II) with Sir Hans Kornberg. At Boston University, Dr. Medrano is conducting research with Prof. Adrian Whitty, investigating receptor tyrosine kinase-mediated effects on intracellular transcription and translation dynamics. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular & Cellular Biology and Biochemistry from Boston University in 2017. He worked on his dissertation research with Prof. Francisco Naya focusing on the cardiac chamber-specific regulation of MEF2A-dependent genes in the adult mouse heart.
