Mary Kate Lehman

Mary Kate is originally from central Massachusetts. She moved to Boston after graduating from UCONN in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. Since graduating, Mary Kate has worked in various Special Education classrooms with children ranging from five years old to fourteen years old.         

Mary Kate worked at the UCONN Child Development Laboratory for three years while attending UCONN. It was there that Mary Kate grew her passion for working in an early childhood classroom. She is so excited to be joining the team at BUCC and to be returning to the work that she loved so much in college.  Mary Kate cares deeply about social-emotional learning and believes in giving children choice and voice as they learn about the world. She encourages learning through play and taking reasonable risks. Mary Kate is excited to watch the children in her classroom learn and develop over time and also to see how their personalities begin to show.

Outside of the classroom, Mary Kate loves to run and be active. She always looks forward to vacations on Hilton Head Island and visiting new places with her friends and family.
