CIMS Fall 2023 “Auteur Film” Course Hosts Production Workshop
Students in Jennifer Cazenave’s “Auteur Film: Céliene Sciamma and Sébastien Lifshitz” class recently participated in a production workshop hosted by industry professionals. During the workshop, students were instructed on how to use CIMS’ cameras, tripods, lighting equipment, and sound equipment.
The students are able to used CIMS four sets of film equipment that were purchased last year. As well as being available for in-class work, CIMS students can check out the film kits for use in academic and personal projects.
“Auteur Film: Sciamma and Lifshitz” is the second CIMS course to include an explicit production component after last year’s “Claire Denis” course (taught by Dr. Sean Desilets), and more hands-on filmmaking classes are part of the future of the BU CIMS Program.
Jennifer Cazenave is the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the CIMS program and teaches courses in twentieth and twenty-first century French cinema, literature, and theory.
