Brinda Bose teaches at the Centre for English Studies in the School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and on her sabbatical now is Visiting Scholar at Boston University in the Fall of 2022. Her interests are in modernisms and the avant-garde, gender/sexualities, modern and contemporary Indian writing and film, and humanities studies.
Her recent publications include the edited collection Humanities, Provocateur: Towards a Contemporary Political Aesthetics (2021) and her monograph, The Audacity of Pleasure: Sexualities, Literature and Cinema in India (2018). She is currently editing a 2-volume collection on Indian avant-garde aesthetics
(forthcoming from Routledge, 2023) and is looking at global avant-garde aesthetic traffics in a longer-term project of her own.
