ICPSR Announces Scholarship Competition, Paid TAships and Dates for 2025 Summer Workshops

ICPSR at the University of Michigan has announced the dates and course rosters of their 2025 ICPSR Summer Program.

• First Session: Monday, June 9 through July 3, 2025
• Second Session: Monday, July 7 through August 1, 2025
• Topical workshops: May through August 2025

The internationally renowned summer program features a broad curriculum ranging from introductory to advanced courses in a variety of methods and techniques like data visualization, Python, R and more. As in past years, the Summer 2025 program will include a comprehensive session on research methods as well shorter topical workshops. The specific course listings can be found here.

The ICPSR Summer Program offers more than $150,000 in student scholarships every year, to more than 50 students. Their goal is to remove financial barriers to participation and increase access to statistical methods training for students of all different backgrounds. They are committed to providing the next generation of researchers with the skills, knowledge, and connections they need to do innovative, impactful work. Required application materials differ between scholarships, but most will require: a CV; cover letter; and a recommendation letter.

Paid teaching assistantship (TAships) also are available. Pay is $39.71/hour. TAs are expected to work in-person in Ann Arbor, Michigan (no remote positions available).

As a bonus, teaching assistants are also able to enroll in up to two methods courses from our General Sessions.

The BU Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS) also may rovide a small number of competitive scholarships to help defray costs of graduate student participation.
