Introducing Agnes Burt, Historian and Foundations Relations Assistant Director
When Dr. Agnes Burt (CAS/History ’20) received her Ph.D. from Boston University in January 2020, she did not expect to be back on campus so quickly. Boston University, however, got lucky. Agnes returned to BU in August 2024 and signed on as Assistant Director in Foundation Relations focusing on social science, and humanities, faculty and staff needs.
Agnes spends her time assisting faculty from across the university to identify, apply for, secure, and steward charitable gifts and grants from private philanthropic foundations and nongovernmental organizations. She matches faculty research and programs with foundations’ priorities, which are often to support pilot projects and high-risk research that may not be attractive to traditional funders such as NIH and NSF. We encourage you to take advantage of Agnes’ expertise and guidance. To arrange a meeting to discuss your needs and goals, she can be reached at agnesb@bu.edu.
Prior to joining the Foundation Relations team, Agnes spent four years at New Hampshire Humanities, where she directed the organization’s grantmaking and public humanities programs.
Agnes will be a featured speaker at CISS’s first annual Grants Day on November 7, 2024 at CISS. Please register here.
