Molly Richard received a PhD in 2023 from Vanderbilt University’s Community Research and Action department. Dr. Richard’s research aims to inform strategies to prevent and end homelessness, with a particular focus on how structural inequality contributes to homelessness and on the roles of local and national actors in addressing it. With over a decade of community-engaged research experience, Dr. Richard brings expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methods. Molly’s doctoral research was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program and strengthened through collaborations with the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Racial Equity Partners, and a range of policymakers, researchers, advocates, and individuals experiencing homelessness across the U.S. Dr. Richard joined the Center for Innovation in Social Science in Fall 2023 as an inaugural CISS postdoctoral fellow, working with Dr. Thomas Byrne and Dr. Loretta Lees.
