Alexander Tyska, who has always gone by his nickname, Xander, is a second-year Ph.D. student in Classical Studies at Boston University. He received his B.A. in the Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Annapolis in 2021, and his M.A. in Classics (specializing in Greek) from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2023.
His research has hitherto focused on Greek poetry, Herodotus, Lucretius and Vergil, ancient philosophy, the history of political thought, and the reception of ancient texts by modern thinkers, especially Friedrich Nietzsche.
