Christopher Hlas (COM '04) won the 2009 Slamdance Short Screenplay Contest for his script Hey Vendor! The film was produced by Slamdance President Peter Baxter and directed by Sundance Film Festival jury award-winner Matt Harrison. The film stars Troy Garity (Jane Fonda's son, who played Harvey in Danny Boyle's Sunshine) and Anthony Rey Parker (Dozer from The Matrix). Hlas makes a cameo, too -- as "Unconcious Guy."

The film will premiere January 23rd at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Hlas will be attending the premiere.

The Slamdance Festival, which aims to display the work of young independent filmmakers, will be held January 21 - 28, 2010.
