BU honored again on Top 25 Film School list

For the third consecutive year, COM’s Department of Film & Television has been honored on the Hollywood Reporter’s Top 25 American Film Schools. For half a decade, the Hollywood Reporter has been ranking the top film programs on a number of criteria, including “prestige, practical experience, inspirational teachers, potential career connections and access to cutting-edge equipment.” This year, COM’s Department of Film & Television placed 12th on the esteemed list.
“The department is proud of its position in the rankings,” said Paul Schneider, chair of the Department of Film & Television at Boston University. “It is a position we have earned by having excellent programs that have produced an impressive number of successful producers, executives, directors, screenwriters, editors, cinematographer and scholars who have had a huge impact on the film and television industry as well as in academia.”
Boston University’s Los Angeles Internship Program was one factor that contributed to the final ranking in the Top 25 American Film Schools. Through the Los Angeles Internship Program, students are able to “study abroad” in Los Angeles and spend a semester submersed in entertainment, publicity, digital media, and social change. Courses are taught by Boston University faculty and alumni who serve as mentors in and out of the classroom.
Boston University placed 12th on the Hollywood Reporter’s Top 25 American Film Schools in 2014 and 11th on the list in 2013.
