For Black journalists who report on race and policing, the mental toll this work can take is extraordinary and often unrelenting. Lack of diversity in newsrooms exacerbates this strain on reporters. What specifically needs to change in newsrooms moving forward? What can newsrooms do to ensure that Black journalists have the support they need? How can Black journalists report these critical and important stories without burning out or breaking down?
