Featuring Patrice Oppliger, Assistant Professor of Communication
In her book Transmasculinity on Television (Routledge, 2022), Patrice Oppliger (she/her) analyzed transmasculine and nonbinary characters on broadcast, cable, and streaming services between 2000 and 2021. While emphasizing the importance of including trans and gender non-conforming individuals in front of and behind the camera, issues regarding the study of transgender media portrayals by a cisgender researcher will be explored.
