About David Tochterman
David is an Emmy-nominated producer, media executive and entrepreneur. He is CEO of Canvas Media Studios, a production studio and distributor for television, film and digital media. He has been a digital content pioneer and entrepreneur since the earliest days of YouTube and has closed financing for two digital media companies. David is also a content strategy consultant for global media, advertising and technology companies.
In television, David has developed and produced programming as a show-runner for all major networks, studios and streaming platforms. He was an EVP and executive producer for the Carsey Werner company, where he worked on hit series that won over 20 Emmy Awards and 70 Emmy nominations including That 70s Show, 3rd Rock From The Sun, Grace Under Fire, Roseanne and Cosby. In film, he is currently producing a slate of feature films for streaming platforms in partnership with global distributor Mar Vista Entertainment.
As lecturer at Boston University, David teaches Creative Producing for Film and Television in the undergraduate program and a graduate course in Evolution Of Media. He previously created the Emerging Media curriculum for the launch of Syracuse University’s Los Angeles semester and taught there for three years.
