Eliza Garry

Prior to BU

Prior to enrolling at BU, I studied Human Development, Hispanic Studies and Government at Connecticut College. At CC, I was the captain of the coed varsity sailing team. Last summer, I was the PR intern at Boston's WHDH Channel 7 News. This summer, I am the event planning intern at Friends of Fort Point Channel. I am working on planning a big street festival in Fort Point in August!

Why Public Relations

I have always wanted to study communications and have always admired the program at BU. Being from the area, I have met a variety of COM alumni in the professional world. I have seen these professionals succeeding in their careers.

Most looking Forward to

I have always wanted to live in Boston so I am very excited to move into my apartment on Bay State Road! Also, coming from a small liberal arts school, I have never taken communications-specific courses. I am excited to take classes that are focused on the field that I hope to pursue a career in!

After Graduation

Being a lifelong athlete, I am hoping to continue my love of sports by working in sports PR. I want to stay in the Boston area so I hope to work for one of my favorite hometown professional or collegiate teams!

A Bit About Me

My favorite color is red but BU is the first school that I have enrolled in that is not blue and white! Also, my favorite animal is the great white shark!
