About Sara Khan
Prior to BU
I completed my undergrad at Florida State where I majored in International Affairs and Sociology. I was active in the Italian program at FSU, where I was a member of La Societa Italiana, our Italian club, and studied abroad for a summer in Florence through the FSU International Programs. After graduating, I worked for the Andrew Gillum for Governor of Florida campaign on the comms and operations team. Following my time at the campaign, I worked at the Florida Senate in the Office of Bill Drafting as an administrative assistant and editor.
Why Public Relations
I chose COM at BU because I had the same gut feeling I got when I went to orientation at FSU. I was sure then that BU was the right place for me. I also think choosing BU was my fate because in 11th grade AP English we had to write a research paper about our dream school and I wrote about BU. And I was born in Boston so there's also that!
Most Looking Forward To
I moved to Miami when I was three so I am looking forward to getting to know my birthplace! I'm also looking forward to living in a city with a rich history. I love that Boston is like a big small town and walkable, I am so over driving right now! One thing I am not sure I am looking forward to is the Boston winter because I am a weak Floridian.
After Graduation
I know what my dream job is, but I am keeping my options open with regards to how I get there! I want to eventually have my own crisis management firm. I love working in politics, but I not sure I see myself working in it forever.
A Bit About Me
I love to travel! I am looking forward to taking weekend trips to other places near Boston, like Montreal and NYC. I like to workout and I am excited to take advantage of everything the BU gym has to offer, especially the skiing lessons! I have a maltipoo named Diesel who is a super good boy; he's coming to Boston with me! I also love astrology and Buzzfeed quizzes!
