Please review the position requirements and accept/decline the offer below.

Description: This is a wonderful opportunity for graduate students interested in working with their peers and supporting their learning. Writing fellows provide one-on-one assistance to undergraduate and graduate student writers at any stage of the writing process – from brainstorming and outlining to rough drafts and final drafts – and help them address writing issues, such as grammar, structure, voice, and clarity.

Tutors receive training at the start of each semester and attend regular staff meetings. In addition, the Writing Center conducts workshops on writing topics and creates and maintains a library of handouts and resources. Professors can also request classroom visits from writing tutors to assist with in-class workshops.

New COM Writing Fellows will also be required to register for COM CO706 (Tutoring Techniques for COM Writers), a one credit pass/fail course that meets weekly.

Stipend: COM Writing Fellows receive $22.65 an hour in return for 10 hours of work per week. Please note that this appointment is for the fall 2025 semester and is renewable for the spring 2026 semester based on performance.
