Speakers & Honorees

Bonnie Hammer, chair of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, delivered Boston University’s 144th Commencement Address. Renowned chemist, Mario Molina, winner of the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, delivered the Baccalaureate Address at Marsh Chapel. Both received honorary degrees. Maxwell T. Robidoux (CAS’17)  was the student speaker.

Others who received honorary degrees were: Robert Knox, private investment management executive, philanthropist, and former Chair of BU’s Board of Trustees; Jeanne Knox, philanthropist, volunteer, and founder of the BU Parents Program; and baseball great and Fenway Favorite, David “Big Papi” Ortiz.
