100 Bay State Road – Construction Activity for the period October 1 – October 10

Dear Colleagues & Neighbors:

In order to better inform the Boston University community and our neighbors living and working on Bay State Road and in Kenmore Square, beginning June 24, 2011 and until the construction of the Center for Student Services at 100 Bay State Road is completed in summer 2012, the Boston University Facilities Management & Planning team will send out weekly updates of the activities taking place on site, especially those that may affect you directly.

For October 1  through October 10 you may expect:

The continued erection of steel and backfilling behind foundation walls will take place over the next few weeks. During this portion of the project there will be several trucks delivering structural steel to the site on a daily basis. In addition, the crew will begin to pour concrete to create the decks for each floor level, which will also continue for several weeks.

This is an intricate and time sensitive operation with activity at times outside of the fence area. Because of this, the University has arranged for police details to monitor and manage traffic flow and ensure for general safety during this period.
