Law School Construction Update 1-25-13

Work on the foundation on the north side of the Central Boiler Plant (along George hart Way) for the Redstone Building will begin this weekend. Prior to the overnight work required in this area, pre-drilling work will have to be performed, and this work will be performed between the hours of 7 am-4 pm and will start on Friday, January 25 and last 3 to 4 days. This work will not produce the vibrations previously experienced on the south side of the site.  However, installation of the pressure injected footings (PIFs) in this area which will follow the pre-drilling, will produce vibration. This work will start no earlier than Wednesday, January 30, will be performed from 11 pm to 7 am and will take approximately 15 days to complete. This overnight work week is from Sunday night through Thursday night.  During the normal day shift, from 7 am to 4 pm, we will be excavating on the south side of the boiler plant and preparing to perform concrete work for the pile caps and grade beams.

If you have any questions or concerns about this work please send an email to fmp@bu.edu.
