CILSE – Construction Activity – Weeks of November 22 & November 29, 2015
For the weeks of November 22 and November 29, 2015:
Due to the upcoming holiday we are providing a two week update.
The project team will continue erecting structural steel, with the work focusing on the sixth and seventh floors of the nine-story structure. There will be two days over the next two weeks (Monday 11/23 and Monday 11/30) when we will be pouring concrete slabs on the second and third floors. The team will also be working to wrap the building with tarps to heat the structure for winter weather operations. Over the next two weeks tarps will reach to the fifth floor. We have completed our second shift work and have returned to a 7 AM to 4 PM schedule.
The project site will be open with steel installation taking place on Saturday (11/21). The project site will be closed on Thursday (11/26) for Thanksgiving.
Structural steel deliveries will continue to arrive each day between 7 AM and 9 AM. In the coming weeks, periodic jobsite deliveries will begin to appear throughout the day. While traveling on Commonwealth Avenue, expect regular and routine stoppage of traffic, pedestrians, and bicyclists as delivery trucks enter and exit the site. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
The construction team holds regularly scheduled communications meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM and the third Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM. These meetings are open to the University community and are held in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (basement of Morse Auditorium) unless otherwise noted. The schedule of these meetings is set through the fall semester (December 2015) and will be reexamined and/or reconfirmed for each semester as the project progresses.
The next communications meeting will be December 3 at 10:30 AM in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue.
