Goldman School of Dental Medicine – Construction Update – 7/3/19
During the weekend of July 6th
- On Saturday, the crew will continue installing the new roofing system and the air/vapor barrier on the exterior walls of the two-story north and seven-story west additions.

Crews will use the work platforms on the exterior of the building to continue installing glass in the new window frames on the south elevation and façade clips and rails on the north, east, and west elevations.
- Electricians will continue working on the east elevation to install electrical systems for lighting the building’s exterior façade at the completion of Phase two. The new fixtures will up-light both the building and the new “Boston University” sign.
During the week of July 8th
- Work will continue on the installation of clips and rails to hold the new building façades in place on the north and west elevations of both new additions.
- Installation of new windows over the existing windows will continue on the south and east elevations.The new window frames are being installed outside over the original windows. Once glass panels are placed in the new frames, the original windows will be removed in phases through the inside of the building.
- The first interior phase of this work under way in rooms 704B, 401, 401B, and 302 along the south elevation. Crews will be working from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. to remove the original windows and renovate the ceiling, window sills, and window shades to accommodate the new windows.
- In the west connector spaces, framing of new walls and the installation of new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems will continue for the seven-story west addition.
- Buildout will continue on the two new resident, student, faculty, and staff elevators in the northwest corner of the seven-story west addition.
- The installation of the new roofing system on the two-story north addition and the seven-story west addition will continue depending on weather conditions.
- Installation of brick on the north elevation of the seven-story west addition will continue.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
