Goldman School of Dental Medicine – Construction Update – 12/27/19
During the weekend of December 28:
- On Saturday and Sunday, work will continue throughout the interior of the seven-story west addition, with the focus on installing flooring, mechanical and electrical devices into the ceiling gird, and casework (cabinets and counters).
During the week starting December 30:
- Following the removal of the mast climbers and swing staging (work platforms), crews will install the remaining terracotta panels and faux wood trim façade at the lower level of the building formerly behind the work platforms along Albany Street.
- On the interior of the existing GSDM building, crews will be working in the existing Prosthodontic Lab on the second floor from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. to install the new ceiling, window sills, and window shades for the new windows.
Floor by floor progress:
- On the first floor of both the seven-story west and two-story north additions, crews will be installing acoustical wall panels in the auditorium and completing touch-up painting.
- On the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of the seven-story west addition, final touch-ups on casework and painting will continue, as will final cleaning.
- The City of Boston inspection process for Phase 2 will continue as there will be a series of inspections, tests, and walkthroughs that will be scheduled as areas and equipment are ready for inspection.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
