CFA Renovations – Construction Update – 3/6/20
During March 6th – March 13th:
(Please note that there is work scheduled for Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th)
General:
Beginning the morning of Saturday, March 7th, the west alley entrance will be closed as work begins to remove the staging. The new ramp on the east side of the building and the center entrance along Comm Ave will be open. Temporary signs are posted to help direct you through the first floor.
Exterior:
There is work scheduled for this Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th. This work will consist of the removal of staging along the west façade on both Saturday and Sunday.
East Façade
- Miscellaneous masonry work will continue over the next two weeks.
South Façade
- Miscellaneous masonry work will begin and continue for the next three weeks.
West Façade
- Removal of staging will begin and continue throughout the week.
North Façade
- Repairs to the window jambs have begun and will continue over the next two weeks.
Archways
- Installation of glazing in the archways on the 1st floor of the building will continue through the end of March.
Interior:
There is work scheduled for this Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th. This work will consist of the installation of window trim in multiple areas, the installation of flooring and plastering in the art gallery, and the installation of eyewash stations on the fifth floor on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, there will be demolition work in the center stairwell. On Sunday, painting in the center stairwell and installation of new stair tread will begin.
On the 1st Level
Student Lounge
- Installation of mirrors will begin midweek and should be completed by the end of the week.
- Installation of the handrails will be completed by the end of the week.
Art Gallery
- Installation of the glass wall will continue.
- Work on the new floor has begun and will be completed over the next two weeks.
- Painting of the walls and columns will continue.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
