Continued excavation to subgrade in the tower

During the weekend of November 7th

  • On Saturday, crews will be on site to continue to excavate the remaining 12 feet of soils from the tower portion of the building. Please be aware trucks will be entering and exiting the site via the construction gate at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Granby Street.
  • Installation of formwork in the podium will also continue on Saturday with the focus on the ground floor slab.

During the week of November 9th

  • The excavation of the remaining material in the tower portion of the building will be removed down to subgrade, roughly 41 feet down from the existing grade.
  • While the excavation progresses, the concrete mud mat will be poured in sections as the working area becomes available.
  • In the podium, the installation of rebar and formwork for the interior walls will finish and concrete will be poured. The focus will then turn to installing rebar and formwork for the ground floor slab.
  • The waterproofing of the podium foundation walls will continue.
  • Following the waterproofing of the foundation walls, backfilling of the space between the foundation wall and the support of excavations sheets will begin.
  • Tentatively scheduled for next Saturday, November 14th, a crane will be set up in Granby Street to remove the site contractor’s equipment from the bottom of the excavation. More details to follow on the next update.
  • Please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered.
  • We will continue to provide you with up-to-date information via these notifications.
