Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 11/12/21
During the weekend of November 13th
- On Saturday, removal of the temporary shoring columns and beams supporting the building cantilevers will continue. Crews will also continue installation of rails and platforms for elevators 4, 5, and 6 in the tower’s core. Intumescent fireproofing of the columns in the podium and spray fireproofing of the columns and beams in the tower, installation of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical rough, and installation of tarps to enclose the upper floors of the tower ahead of the coming winter weather will also continue.


During the week of November 15th
- Removal of the temporary shoring columns and beams supporting the building cantilevers will continue.
- Installation of “Stair B”, located north of the tower’s core, will be completed, concrete will be placed up to the 20th floor.
- In the tower’s subbasement and lower level, crews from the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors will continue fitting out the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Drywall installation will continue.
- On floors 2 through 19 of the tower, the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors will continue installing electrical conduit, hangers, and piping. Wall layout and framing will continue on the lower floors of the tower.
- Crews will be applying a fireproof coating on the interior steel beams and columns for the tower’s 15th and 16th-floor framing (working from the 14th and 15th floors respectively) and a white fireproof coating on the exterior columns for the 3rd and 4th floors in the podium.
- The elevator subcontractor will continue installing equipment, rails, and platforms for elevators 4, 5, and 6, located on the south side of the tower’s core.
- In the podium, installation of above-ceiling sprinkler pipe, ductwork, and fan coil units will begin on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Wall framing will begin on the 4th floor.
- Trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
