Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 12/10/21
During the weekend of December 11th
- On Saturday, crews will continue installation of rails and platforms for elevators 4, 5, and 6 in the tower’s core. Activities for intumescent and spray fireproofing of the columns and beams on the upper floors of the tower and installation of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection rough will also continue. Crews will be onsite receiving curtain wall materials and assembling and installing panels.
- Crews from the elevator subcontractor will be onsite Sunday receiving deliveries of materials and distributing them throughout the floors.


During the week of December 13th
- Installation of curtain wall panels at the tower will continue on the 2nd and 3rd floors, working counterclockwise starting from the northwest corner of the podium. Assembly of the panels before installation will continue.
- In the subbasement and lower level, crews from the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors will continue installing the MEP systems. Following last week’s sign off from the city building inspector, crews will resume installing drywall and closing in walls.
- On floors 2 through 19 of the tower, the MEP subcontractors will continue installing electrical conduit, hangers, and piping. Wall layout and framing will occur in select areas.
- Crews will continue applying a fireproof coating to the interior steel beams and columns along with a white fireproof coating for the tower’s 17th, 18th, and 19th-floor framing.
- The elevator subcontractor will continue installing equipment and will begin on cab framing for elevators 4, 5, and 6, located on the south side of the tower’s core.
- In the podium, installation of above-ceiling sprinkler pipe, ductwork, plumbing pipe, and electrical rough-ins will continue on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. Wall framing will continue throughout.
- Installation of the roofing system at the podium will continue.
- Trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
