Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 9/23/22
During the weekend of September 24th
On Saturday, on the exterior of the building, crews will be working from the elevated platforms continuing the installation of panels at the 7th floor soffits.
Also on Saturday, on the interior of the building, installation of the atrium’s monumental stair and tower’s communicating stair will continue. Installation of stone flooring will continue on the ground floor, carpet and ceiling install will continue in the tower. Painting of the stairs and walls will continue throughout.
On Sunday, crews will return to the site to continue installation of elements of Stair D and Stair F, emergency electrical systems, and general clean-up.
Deliveries for miscellaneous materials will also occur throughout the day.

During the week of September 26th
At the atrium, crews continue assembling elements of the monumental stair. The focus continues to be framing and preparing the steel structure to receive the finish wall paneling.
On the ground floor, installation of stone flooring, will continue along with the installation of ceiling systems.
Installation of finishes will continue throughout, including whiteboards, corner guards, cabinetry, wood and acoustical ceilings, interior glass walls and doors, final paint, polishing concrete floors, office carpet, and plumbing fixture install continues.
The elevator subcontractor will continue the installation of the finishes for elevators cabs 1, 2, and 3.
At the terraces, installation of green roof material and installation of pavers continues the 10th, 12th, floors. Installation of the glass guardrails continues on the 15th, and 17th floors.
Installation of the finish metal panels will continue at the soffit at the underside of the 7th floor. Infill of the remaining curtain wall panels and missing fins will continue.
Installation of the guardrails and glass enclosure panels around Stair F, the Communicating Stair continues.
Exterior sitework continues on all sides of the building, preparations for new sidewalks continue along Commonwealth Avenue, and Granby Street. Retaining wall, ramp, stair, and planter installation continues at the rear of the Bay State Road brownstones. Assembly of the structural framing for the bike shelter will continue in the area between Sargent College and the Center for Computing & Data Sciences.
Deliveries of office furniture for the 7th floor will arrive onsite early next week.
The project will continue utilizing a second shift, from 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday through Friday to advance interior work, accommodate off hour deliveries and material loading, and debris removal.
Please be aware in addition to daily deliveries, trucks with large trailers will be staged adjacent to and moving around the site and pedestrians should be aware of all safety and directional signage in the areas as pedestrian and vehicle travel paths may be altered
