Exterior Work

Front Façade (Commonwealth Avenue)

Crews will begin removing the overhead canopy, signage, and lighting on the front of the building along Commonwealth Avenue on the overnight shift.
After the existing canopy is removed, overhead safety protection will be installed and remain in place for the duration of the project.

Rear Façade (Rear Alley)

The existing galvanized steel stairs in the rear alley of the building which are accessed through the rear of the parking garage will be removed to make room for the scaffolding and overhead protection installation.
Crews will begin installing overhead protection, shoring towers, and scaffolding at the rear of the building.
Temporary stairs and overhead protection will be installed outboard of the staging to maintain access to and from the parking garage.

Cummington Mall

Temporary construction fencing will be installed, establishing Tower A’s construction loading dock and hoistway area.
Excavate soils to cut pile caps and prepare soil base for the concrete pile cap for the Tower A hoist.
A truck-mounted drill rig will be stationed in the street, obtaining soil samples for the design team to analyze.

Hinsdale Mall

Interior Work

Towers

On December 26, from 7:00 AM until 3:30 AM, there will be a scheduled power outage in Tower A to tie in the temporary construction power service.
Otis Elevator will be surveying the existing elevator shafts in Tower A and taking individual cars offline for short durations as needed.
Kone will be on site surveying the existing escalators in preparation for replacement, taking individual sections offline for short durations as needed.
Feldman will be accessing the roof of Tower A and Tower C to perform surveying for the FAA Permit.

Parking Garage

Crews will be chipping existing concrete fireproofing at new steel connections on level 2.
Electrical work continues in the temporary electric room on the 1^st

4^th Floor and Dining Area

Crews will open select ceiling tiles and remove fireproofing for steel field measuring.
Noninvasive investigation of the walk-in cooler flooring buildup.
Select demolition of small areas of the wall to review the condition of existing studs.
Feldman will continue to scan above ceiling existing conditions on the west end and north corridor of the 4^th

Crane work is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of January 25^th and 26^th. A formal notification along with more information will be provided at a later date.
