Warren Towers Renovation – Construction Update – 1/24/2025

General Project Information

Work on the exterior, outside student rooms, will be performed from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Work on the street level will be performed from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm.
The team is currently in the main renovation phase of the project.

A large crane will arrive Friday afternoon, 1/25, and crews will begin set up and assembly on Cummington Mall. The street will be closed to through traffic from Hinsdale Mall west until Monday morning, 1/27.
Saturday, 1/25, and Sunday, 1/26, from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm, large steel beams will be lifted into place, which will create a bridge over 111 Cummington Mall.
SAFETY NOTICE- 111 Cummington Mall, south alley, and all swing radius will be closed down during the entire duration of the assembly process. The construction team will clear all these areas before overhead lifts. Please observe all signage and site guidance over the weekend.

Exterior Work

4th-Floor Podium Roofs

Crews will continue working on the staging support steel at the low roofs to the east and west of Tower A.

Front Façade (Commonwealth Avenue)

Crews will work on top of the overhead protection installing guardrails, staging, and shoring components.

Rear Façade and Back Alley

Crews will continue installing overhead protection, shoring towers, and scaffolding at the rear alley behind the building.

Cummington Mall

Crews will continue their construction of the Tower A hoist way and common tower.
Crews will continue assembly work of the bridge over 111 Cummington Mall.
The south sidewalk will always remain open; please observe site signage.

Interior Work

Towers

There are no planned work activities on site on level 4 or in Towers A, B, or C.
