Goldman School of Dental Medicine – Construction Update – 3/20/20
Special Update – Starting March 17, 2020:
- On Tuesday March 17, 2020, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh suspended all regular construction activity in the City of Boston as part of several measures designed to limit the spread of the coronavirus. At this time, no end-date has been proposed for this suspension. The GSDM project team has spent the remainder of the week on “make-safe” efforts at the construction site for the duration of the site closure. The team will continue to meet weekly to move the planning along for the start of Phase 3 renovation work, to assure its readiness for the end of the construction moratorium.
- Also on Tuesday March 17, GSDM received a notice from the Massachusetts Office of the Commissioner of Public Health requiring that hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers licensed or operated by the Department of Public Health reschedule or cancel all elective procedures, effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Since both the Patient Treatment Centers at 635 Albany Street and the BU Dental Health Center at 930 Commonwealth Avenue are licensed ambulatory surgical centers, they fall under this order. Emergency patient care, however, will continue at both locations.

We wish you all the best as we officially enter into Spring, and hope that you remain safe and healthy during this period of uncertainty. As always, your safety is imperative!
