A new LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center, was opened in January 2024 and is housed on the second floor of 808 Commonwealth Avenue near the current LGBTQIA+ Center for Faulty & Staff and the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground.

The space features a large common area with flexible furniture that can easily be arranged for any event. This common area is for students to gather, events to be held, and even a place for movies to be screened with the help of the large projector screen the team expects to install. A small library with resources and queer literature along with tables for quiet study is also available to students, as well as another more private meeting space for one-on-one conversations or private mindful moments. Along with student spaces, the center also has office spaces for two full-time staff members.

The goal of the center is to provide a dedicated space for all LGBTQIA+ students and allies to get support, find their community, and create a sense of belonging at BU.
