What inspired you to get involved with the CSC?
I’ve alway believed in giving back to the community and extending a helping hand as long as I am capable of it. It creates an environment where people can help each other steer their day into a better one. I hope that through CSC I will be able to build connections and hear about the stories of others as well as build my own story, and learn more about myself along with it.
What is your favorite CSC experience and why?
My favorite CSC experience is going the Shawnee National Forest for my Alternate Service Break trip. There, I built lasting friendships and learned about protecting and preserving the forest, while also being able to see the beauty and livelihood of the people living there.
What advice would you give to students looking to get involved?
My advice is to keep our mind open to different experiences. Don’t pass up an opportunity just because you think it doesn’t align with your interests. You’ll be surprised by how much you might actually end up liking it, and if not, at least you learned more about yourself along the way.
