From turning the tide of WWII in the Pacific to establishing defenses against the cyber attacks of the future, the U.S. Navy is fully invested in facing the challenges of operating in an increasingly complex 21st century environment. The Navy’s Information Warfare Community integrates disciplines of intelligence, cyber, networks, space, oceanography, meteorology, and electronic warfare to apply critical thinking and technical solutions for efficient, effective, and rapid application of multi-dimensional information to achieve a warfighting advantage. This talk focuses on the Navy’s most critical need – an agile, trained, and intelligent military and civilian workforce that enables us to effectively sense, collect, understand, exploit, communicate, and act decisively.
Lieutenant Will Parker received his commission as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer after graduating Officer Candidate School in November 2007. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Texas and a M.S. from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. In April 2014, he took on his current assignment as a Cyber Warfare Project Officer at the Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group at Fort Meade, MD. He is the recipient of various personal and campaign awards including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards).
