New BU Benefit! Mindfulness App Now Free for Students

Boston University takes mental health seriously. Appropriate support for our students is paramount to their overall success and wellbeing. Now, graduate, professional, and undergraduate students, as well as faculty and staff, can benefit from free access to the Headspace app.

Headspace is a research-backed tool designed to aid in mindfulness and meditation, offering various practices (some as short as 1 minute!) to help with feeling overwhelmed, improving focus, and managing anxiety. This initiative, co-sponsored by Graduate Affairs in the Office of the Provost, Student Health Services, and Athletics, is one piece of the University’s commitment to improving and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students.

Otherwise $13 per month or $70 per year, students can now access the app free of charge through the Office of the Provost website. It is also now highlighted as one of many resources for graduate students under the “Health and Wellness” section of the Boston University Graduate Student website. Additionally, faculty and staff can access the app through the Faculty & Staff Assistance Office (FSAO) website. If you have questions or would like to understand more about this student initiative, please visit www.bu.edu/wellbeingproject.
