BE CLEAR: Bringing Education to Communities to Learn and Engage in Research

The BU CTSI Community Engagement team joined the Center for Community Health Education Research and Service for their 2nd annual BRI…DGE conference. BRI…DGE brings together researchers and the community members to forge equitable partnerships around health. Our Community Engagement team presented their “BE CLEAR” training, or Bringing Education to Communities to Learn and Engage in Research. The goal of BE CLEAR is to help researchers speak clearly and vividly about their work in ways community members can understand and appreciate. The workshop employs improvisational theatre techniques to teach participants how to connect authentically with an audience, pay dynamic attention to others, read nonverbal cues and respond freely without self-consciousness. Congrats to the BU CTSI community engagement team for a successful training and to CCHERS for another great conference!
