The National Advisory Council on Minority Health and Health Disparities advises the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the NIH Director, and the NIMHD Director on matters related to the Institute’s mission, including its research and research training activities with respect to minority health issues. The 56th National Advisory Council on Minority Health and Health Disparities will have NIMHD Director Eliseo J. Pérez-Stable, M.D., present the Director’s Report.

National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders Director Debara L. Tucci, M.D., M.S., M.B.A., will present, “Minority Health and Health Disparities Research at National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders.”

Spero M. Manson, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor of Public Health and Psychiatry, Director, Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health Colorado Trust Chair in American Indian Health, University of Colorado‐Anschutz will present “Integrating Behavioral Health and Primary Care: Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) in Native Healthcare.”

Several NIMHD staff members will introduce new research concepts on minority health and health disparities for clearance by the Advisory Council.
