Seeking Director for Grant Writing Course

The BU CTSI is looking for a mid to late career investigator to direct either a Career Development Award or R-level grant writing course. Both courses are offered twice a year (6-8 sessions/course), and provide step-by-step instruction and guidance to a group of scientists around their submission.

The course Director will be responsible for partnering with other CTSI leaders to review applications and make decisions about the participant cohort; leading 6-8 sessions/course (2 times per year) during which time participants bring specific sections of the grant that are reviewed by the group; providing mentorship and comments on drafts in between classes; and organizing mock reviews.  The Director will also attend the CTSI Workforce Development Group monthly meetings as needed and participate in the yearly evaluation of the program.

Successful candidates must have a track record of extramural funding and mentorship and it is preferred that they have some service on NIH style study sections. Course leaders will receive 10% FTE (to the NIH cap).

Interested candidates should send a CV, and a one paragraph statement of interest, including whether they prefer to lead K or R level grant writing by Monday, April 3rd to Megan.Bair-Merritt@bmc.org.
