BU CTSI 12th Annual Symposium Looks at AI and Its Impact on Translational Science

Boston University CTSI’s 12th Annual Translational Science Symposium, held March 19 at the Duan Family Center for Computing & Data Sciences, spotlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in driving scientific discovery. Themed Advancing Translational Science Through Cutting-Edge Technology, the symposium featured keynote speaker Dr. Roy Perlis of Harvard Medical School and MGH, alongside BU researchers sharing how AI is transforming diagnostics, treatment development, and equity in healthcare access.

From AI-assisted dementia screenings to breast cancer bias detection and liver regeneration through mRNA therapy, the talks underscored the power of interdisciplinary collaboration in translating research into real-world solutions.
